I stumbled upon a post on a parenting blog of which owner is an American mother questioing her readers ‘How old were their children when they stopped wanting kisses from mummy?’ and the question kind of surprised me as I never thought American kids were embarrassed being kissed by their mummies. Also, the question led to another question in my mind ‘How close are you to your family?’
I don’t know much about western families but for us Asian people, family is quite a priority in life, at least to me, it is.
I’m the second child in the familly among an intelligent elder sister, a childish younger sister, the youngest brother who is a smart arse and each of us is one year and three months different. My parents were not high educated but we four have been perfectly brought up! We still stay with our parents (it’s very common in Thai culture) except my elder sis who’s now working in the north. That’s why we are so close to one another.
Being a middle child in the family, I’m very close to every family member especially my great daddy
When i was a little girl, he always told me that I had been found in the trash so he adopted me while the others were his real children. At that time I was too innocent to realise he was just kidding me, thus I couldn’t help crying everytime he teased me. Years later, I knew it was only a (bad) joke and the reason he teased me that way because he and I are the most alike! The three look like our mummy but I alone look really like our daddy
I’m now in my twenties and I still always get kisses on the cheek from my daddy and we sometimes walk holding hands hehe. I don’t know whether that’s weird or not but I just don’t care (my daddy probably does but he never tells me lol). One of my friend said that luckily we are really alike, otherwise poeple might think we are….(say no more!)
