She’s finally home, she finally made it! She finally graduated her tough six-year medical course and she’s gonna be a real doctor in less than three months’ time.

She’s only a year and 3 months older than me but she seems to be far more intelligent than I am. She has been a real smart kid since she was in high school, she was recognized as one of the coolest student in her year, every teacher knew her and a by-product was that they knew me too since I have the same last name as my sis’s! However, the teachers were usually surprised when they realized I was her younger sis thanks to our completely different look!

Not only graduates from the hardest faculty in Thailand, she is also the-first-class-honor student with the GPA 3.85!!!! HOW COULD SHE DO THAT!?!?!?! I was just a journalistic student but I haven’t done as great as her. Not so surprised why she’s always been my mommy’s favourite daughter :D

She will definitely earn lots of money when she starts working as a doctor, that’s good for her as it’s worth her hard effort in uni. You are cool, fantastic, magnificent, terrific, well can you give me 2,000baht every month? lolz

Yesterday, my boss asked me and other staff to write 21 things we want to do or want to be in five years’ time. One of my colleagues told me that number 21 has a special meaning in British people’s belief; they will have a big celebration when they turn 21 years old.

These are 21 things I want to achieve;

1. Want all my siblings get good jobs

2. Want my parents to stop working

3. Go traveling; Japan, England, Holland, Switzerland and other parts of Thailand

4. Still enjoy working

5. Get to see snow!

6. Learn how to ski

7. Try making a movie

8. Stay healthy

9. Spend some time among nature

10. Take part in my sibling’s weddings

11. Have some nieces and nephews

12. Get a cool camera

13. Be able to understand English movie without Thai sub titles

14. Improve my English

15. Still hang out with same old good friends

16. Take my parents abroad

17. Do Master degree abroad

18. Go visiting my grandma in China

19. Gain some unique experiences

20. Read loads of interesting books

21. Be happy in life

Let’s see how many of them will have been done in the next five years!

It was one of the most embarrassing events that happened in my life!

Last week, I went to the cinema at a department store with my friend, planning to watch Sweeney Todd (Johny Depp has missed the Orcar. So sad). I got bored while I was waiting for my friend, so I went ahead to book the movie ticket on the 7th floor. I was climbing up the escalators from the ground floor until the 6th floor which the escalators are linked together, or to say, you don’t have to walk across the 6th floor to keep going up.

However, the escalator from 6th floor to the 7th is different; you gotta walk to the other side to go up, meaning the escalator that is linked between the 6th and 7th floor is going down from the 7th floor! I was absentmindedly being on the escalator going up from the 5th floor, having iPod playing its tunes so loudly. SUDDENLY, when I got the 6th floor, instead of going to the opposite site to keep going on the escalator to the 7th floor, I right away headed to the escalator which was going down from the 7th floor!! Even though I stared at it, I didn’t even realized till I got on it, first step..second step..third step, SHIT!!! I just realized that I was trying to go up while the escalator was going down!

I didn’t fall over or got hurt but I was SHY!!! I got seen by loads of people who were being on the escalator lifting from the 5th floor and some of them were foreigners! I wish I could disappear from that place and I didn’t know how long they were looking at me as I immediately walked away from that SPOT!

When I got home, I told one of my friends about this as I wanted someone to share such a bad experience! To my surprise, he fell over an escalator too hahaha, I just couldn’t stop laughing when he was telling me. He was trying to throw some litters into a bin next to the escalator which was going up from the lower floor but he accidentally stepped over the escalator and then fell over! Obviously, this was worse!

I do recommend you guys who long for a great fun period of time in life on the beginning of the upcoming summer to watch a lovely film named ‘27 dresses’, starring James Marsden and Katherine Heigl.

The movie tells us about a lady, Jane, who has been to 27 weddings as a bridesmaid with different weird dresses (some of which I found very beautiful). She falls for her own boss, George, who only has her as his most favorite staff, but unfortunately he never considers her as his soul mate. And worse, he falls for her baby sister, Tess, at his first glance.

Jane runs into her favorite writer, Kevin Doyle, however, she never knows that since he uses ‘Malcolm Doyle’ as his byline. Kevin finds her life so interesting that he asks his editor to write about her and guarantees it’d be his most fantastic story ever. Jane, who is suffering from the upcoming wedding of her beloved sister and boss, is dealing with everything to make the wedding to perfection.

However, Tess lies to George as she wants to impress him including telling him she’s a vegetarian and a pet lover while she’s not all these things at all. Jane can’t stand such a thing, it’s not because she’s jealous of Tess but she loves George and doesn’t want him to be deceived. Tess also cuts some parts of her mother’s wedding in order to make it more fashionable. That’s enough for Jane to reveal everything or to say, to destroy her sister’s life….unintentionally!

Kevin bit by bit falls for Jane and he’s done the worst thing in his life by writing an article about her being a 27-wedding bridesmaid and posting loads of her photos in different dresses on Sunday’s newspaper. Although he asks his editor not to publish the story, it’s too late!

The movie reaches its climax without any laughter from the audiences, this means ‘27 dresses’ stuns them with something that you don’t want to miss!

I’ve discovered Thailand’s hidden treasure on a trip to Chiang Rai! I went there to join my friend’s graduation ceremony with some of high school friends. I set off the trip on Friday evening and got back to Bangkok on Monday morning, it was such a short trip but tremendously memorable.

The ceremony was on Sunday so we started our journey right after we arrived in Chiang Rai at seven in the morning when the weather was really cold. We right away headed to Doi Tung, where the weather was colder, to visit splendid orchards and a house of HM the King’s mother who passed away many years ago.

I was stunned by those magnificent flowers and tress and if I were a butterfly, I wouldn’t fly anywhere else. The place was just like heaven on earth, slight fog along with multi color flowers and cool wind really froze us there and we knew that we could spend a whole day at such a fascinating place. We were stuck in every space where lots of my friends ran out of their camera batteries.

We realized that we couldn’t spend too much time at one place so we decided to leave Doi Tung and continued traveling to Mae Sai, the highest area of Thailand and the shared border of Thailand and Myanmar. There appeared a market full of wide range goods and stores owned by Burmese people and all the stuff were dirt cheap. Some sellers were real nuisance, they were trying to sell us faked cigarettes with their strange Thai accent. The market is well-known for its faked goods like DVD, name-brand purse, watches and lots more. We got back to the hotel with loads of stuff in our hands!

We got up early on Sunday in order to spend as much time as possible in Chiang Rai where I saw no sky sculpture but bright sky and massive mountains. My friend’s university was really different from every university I’ve seen in Bangkok, it was huge with a few big mountains as its background. I was jealous of the students as they got fresh and good air to breathe, and nice views to be seen from their classroom windows.

My laptop has been fixed at the Compaq shop for four days now and I don’t know when I will get it back and this is the reason why I had not updated my blog for quite some time. I’m now at office and it’s not good to take too much time on the post, so that’s all for today and I’m gonna keep posting again when my laptop is alive again!

Anyway, happy St. V’s day to all of you :D

I will set off another journey before the Malaysia trip next week after Valentine’s Day! I was just confirmed today about going to Chiang Rai, the northern part of Thailand. Around eight of my high school friends and I are going there to join a friend’s graduation ceremony and of course it’d be a great chance to travel, although it’s only a few days trip.

We are planning to go there by a van on Friday night and we will arrive on Saturday morning. Since the grad ceremony will be on Sunday, we can start the trip throughout Saturday :D I’ve never been to Chiang Rai before but without doubt it must be a really beautiful place, I do hope the weather will be fine on the day we arrive as well.

See you Chiang Rai, I’m packed! Oh no,,,it’s too soon!

Happy New Year to Chinese or even mixed Chinese people in and out China~

In Thailand, many people are mixed Thai and Chinese so we can commonly experience Chinese traditions and worship everywhere.  Today is Chinese New Year, lots of families worship gods and their dead ancestors, so do my family. I don’t know what the original Chinese New Year is like in mainland China but here Thailand, apart from the worship, young people get quite a large amount of money from their parents and relatives. However, those youngsters who already get a job don’t get money, in contrast, they are supposed to give money to their parents and relatives! SO THIS IS MY FIRST YEAR THAT I DIDN’T GET ANY MONEY WHILE ALL OF MY SIBLINGS DID!!! So sad….

According to the title of my post today, yes it’s true that most of the Thais celebrate New Year three times every year! One is Chinese celebration which I mentioned above. Another two is international New Year which is on January 1st and Thai New Year on April 13th.

April 13th is considered to be Thai ex-New Year which was changed to be on January 1st, however, the Thais still celebrate it every year. Moreover, the day also features Songkran Festival which actually takes three days (13-15 April). Besides the craze of water celebration on Songkran, people go back to their hometown in order to visit their parents and pour water on the hands of them and revered elders and ask for blessing. It’s such a warm and lovely New Year!

My elder sister arrived home yesterday for her so-called Master Degree interview. Honestly, I don’t really understand how her education system goes. She’s a medical student and it has taken her six years until she graduates, not to mention her further study after these six years. She is studying in Chiang Mai, a province in the north of Thailand, and she’s gonna graduate this late February! So coooool!

She’s only one year older than me and she’s a smart kid hehe. Being a medical student in Thailand is tough and that person is supposed to be patient, diligent and also put a lot of effort in the study. That’s one of the reasons why Thai medical students are really admired. If you can enroll to the faculty of Medicine, you are a genius! Therefore, my sister has become a pride to my parents and of course to her two younger sisters and brother.

She has been away from home for six years and I call at her sometime in Chiang Mai, now she’s coming back home and will probably stay here for three months at most before continuing her study in Ratchaburi, a province in the west, just in case if she passes the interview. In fact, it’s not a Master degree I guess, not so sure what it’s called, well forget it then! Anyway, what I’m quite sure is that every medicine student who is done the six-year course has to continue their study in order to specialize in any medical fields they are fond of and have a potential in.

She asked me to look for some tour packages from the internet for her. I think she has already started planning to travel and she has so many plans now; Vietnam, Cambodia, Japan, China and so on. Like she could do them all…!!! Anyway, welcome home a doctor-to-be  :D

I got an email from my two Malaysian friends saying they are gonna get married in June this year! I was not really shocked as they have got along together for two years. So it will be my first time at my own friends’ wedding.  Sounds great! Above all, it will be a really cool reunion of nineteen of us, in case all of them can make it.

We got to know one another in 2005 as the delegates in ‘ASEAN Young Journalists/Leaders Exchange Programme’ in Philippines, Vietnam and Cambodia. Two students from each Asian country participated in the programme which had been held for three weeks but Singapore sent only one delegate so there were only 19 participants! The two Malaysians were lucky enough, it must have been a destiny!

It’s been almost 3 years since we were apart but we never get to see one another (Only my friends from Laos and Singapore made their trip to Bangkok last year.) I hope I can make it to their wedding party this late June. Can’t help getting so excited haha.

I’m getting stressed now as I have to find the best dress to the wedding. Gotta go now to look in my wardrobe!!
